Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, better known by his stage name Jay Sean, is a British singer-songwriter, rapperbeatboxer and record producer was born on the 26th March 1981 in HarlesdenBrent, London, England.

Jay Sean's talent was noticed from the young age of 11 when
he and his cousin Pritpal Rupra formed a hip hop duo named "Compulsive Disorder". He attended Latymer Upper School and completed his GCSE's with "straight A's" and shortly after completed him A Levels and attended Queen Mary University to study Medicine and Dentistry. It is clear to see the transition and evolution of Jay Sean physically and visually, from the stereotypical slim, spiky haired Asian boy from West London, to a more sophisticated, broad and attractive young man. They was much curiosity that surrounded his image and how it was a barrier to his success, and Jay Sean being the intelligent young man he was, understood the music game and played along and changed his image to make himself more presentable. This was a serious factor in his success and the transition and "new" Jay Sean caught the attention of Birdman and Slim, the founders of Cash Money Records.
